Years ago, I found a torpid bat sleeping in my laundry basket, after I had brought it to the laundromat. (My laundry was sitting on a cold porch.) I set it aside and did my laundry while it recuperated. When it started flying around the laundromat, I brought it outside to fly away. I tossed it in the air and it flew like a ball instead of a bat. I let it warm in my hands before I let it go again and it recovered enough to fly on its own. Meanwhile, it kept trying to bite me and I scolded it. It was more scary for the bat and the other people.
