Sometimes the cop behind you will give you a clue.

In Japan, the car “chimes” at you if you exceed the national maximum speed limit. I imagine it will only be a matter of time before some system will take control of your car and not allow you to go faster than what the GPS thinks the posted speed limit is.

Given the so-called “advances” in automotive safety features, I can picture my grandchildren being in slack-jawed awe, “You mean you and grandma actually drove cars?”

Oh I remember doing 100 mph in my step-father’s 1968 Delta 88, on a FM road (farm to market), and then I hit a dip in the road. Went airborne for a little bit. I think I shook for 24 hours after that! That 88 was the smoothest, quietest car I ever drove, and it could fly :)

I knew a man that had a car that had A THING YOU ADJUSTED FOR A CERTAIN SPEED,AND IF YOU WENT OVER IT ,IT CHIMED. when HE HAD ME DRIVE HIM,AS HE USUALLY into the booze I would set it a little faster. He would always say, man it seems like you are speeding, but I never got caught at it by him. OOpps Didn’t see Cap lock come on!
