I thought Jill was, like, six feet tall? …Then again, if she lives somewhere where parking is hard to come by, like my last neighborhood, a mini car would come in handy.
I loved my 1973 Mini; it had more legroom for my then 6’ than my later VW Rabbit GTI.
Jill clearly has a modern Mini—British Leyland (→ Rover Group) sold the marque to BMW in 2000. The earlier Minis had very innovative engineering and were wildly popular, in many variants. As far as I know, the only Minis imported into Canada were the 998cc (I think) model I had—ok, but slowing down a bit going up even slight grades. I always aspired to a “Cooper” model (developed in conjunction with the John Cooper Works), and especially the race-tuned “Cooper S,” which I think had a 1275cc engine. These won all sorts of rallies around Europe, and were even used as highway police cars. The Coopers were distinguished by having white or black tops (as opposed to being the same as the body colour). I think now that all of the BMW Minis are called “Coopers.”

After the last week or so, I’m amazed that anyone would be in love with Dixie.

Ethan has had bad luck finding women who will sleep with him. If she will, he will accept most other things.
