anyone know where this cartoon is meant to be based? The original writer is from Kentucky but went to college in Wisconsin? This looks like the midwest but i have never been to Kentucky sooo? Help
I once saw a cat chase a squirrel up a tree. They got out onto thin branches that would not support the cat so he stopped and hung on for dear life. When the squirrel realized the cat was no longer on his tail, he turned around and went back to taunt the cat! Here kitty kitty, come and get me!
We had a cat that used to stalk horses. And once, we think he might have chased off a moose (they occasionally came down from the mountains to snack on grandpa’s peach tree).
Our two cats were outside, tied up of course, looking at the downspout where a squirrel had run into, to get away from them. What a racket that was coming out of the downspout. Yes we removed the cats from the area to let the squirrel go free.

More than likely it’s based in Cartoonland.

I had a cat that would sit at the base of a tree and make squirrel sounds until one came down to investigate.
