Why does anyone watch Thursday games, except for the Thanksgiving game? Those games generally suck, because the players are exhausted form just playing four days ago.
I’m constantly amused as to how the N.F.L. says it cares about the health and safety of its players, yet has them play two games in five days. Thursday night games are nothing but a cash grab by the league and the owners. The only time games should replayed on a Thursday is Thanksgiving Day/Night. That’s it.
Ratings would improve if the Thursday night games are marketed as a comedy show. Schedule teams that were the worst performers during the previous season. Have beer commercials designed for pathetic games. For example, every viewer is required to gulp some beer after every missed block or fumbled pass.
When you see a crucial play nullified after the action is over by a late flag calling “false start” or “holding” you might start to wonder about the integrity of the game.

One year our team was playing so badly that their game was on Saturday morning, before the college games started.
