Personal opinion: I miss the grander adventure story arcs of the earlier years, and like the movie.Lately if feels like the strip has been one-liners and sight gags. I don’t think I’ve seen a character other than RJ, Vern, and Hammy except as a cameo! I remember Jim Davis got into a similar rut for a while with Garfield, and revived the strip with a single life changing event for Jon: Liz actually decided to give him a chance, and ended up liking him. Jon’s bachelorhood ended.

So a writer’s question: what sort of change could cause RJ, Vern, Hammy, and everyone else we haven’t seen much of lately to alter their routines? Drastically? How would/do they respond to that change?

If you’re behind the leaf blower when you turn it on, be sure to not stand too close to the air inlet.

If you’re sucked in, the strip could keep going…. 8^)
