Like someone mentioned a little bit ago, the art makes the story visceral – I think my heart rate shot at when I read the last two panels!!!! This can’t end well. . .
Oh, crap. I hope the cop just shot his foot and never even got the gun out of the holster. BTW, your artwork alone makes the strip newspaper worthy. Sadly, I had to cancel my subscription for economic reasons. That’s why I pay the GoComics fee; I can’t give up my daily dose of comics!
I’ve been on edge waiting for this to happen since the cop showed up. I don’t know if we’re seeing reality or a nightmare scenario, but either way it’s making an impact and I want to see where it goes from here.
I just recently discovered the strip, and you have drawn me in so quickly that I uttered a horrified “No!” out loud as I read. I’m not sure a newspaper would publish something so real, but you certainly deserve to be widely published and read.
The instant the cop touched his gun I’d been waiting for this to happen. How you deal with the situation is what will make the trauma real and the sequence worth the pathos!

Man, this went way darker than I thought it would. Let’s hope it turns out better than it looks right now.

…looks like there was blood BEFORE the gunshot – here’s hoping nobody actually got hit…

Such STRONG reactions! Now everybody go demand your newspaper feature A Problem Like Jamal. You can enjoy minor trauma with your morning coffee!

Yeah I was being a little tongue in cheek. I won’t act like I wouldn’t happy feature Jamal in newspapers but it’s not my ultimate goal with the strip.
