Back in my day, the school was on a giant elevator that was above our house in the morning, and below it in the afternoon. In between was a fifteen mile long bridge full of climate control gizmos that kept it covered with snow even in warm weather. And they had this weird law about not being allowed to cross it unless you were barefoot.
When I kept getting those advertising brochures filled with things “I couldn’t live without” despite asking several times to be removed from their list, I ripped them up, put the pieces in a return envelope and mailed it back to them. Without postage. They quickly learned not to bother me anymore, since I was costing them more money.

If I were the “Phoebe” mentioned in the last panel of this cartoon, I would say this: Why did you say that about me? It was not nice.
