Bah, she just needs to buy bigger candles to better stand out against all the festive foliage. And while she’s out picking up bigger candles she could get….
We don’t really buy/get gifts (husband will buy a DVD or a book or both that is about it). Due to medical conditions that we have we can’t really eat anything different or more for the holidays (still working on using up Thanksgiving turkey). We go to midnight mass Christmas Eve.
So when all there is left to celebrate is to decorate – I decorate big inside the house. Dining room is colonial Christmas. Living room is general Christmas. Our studio is handmade Christmas. Upstairs hall is Teddy bear village Christmas. We have 5 trees – one large (living room0, three small – ( studio, dining room, bear village) and one beaded that I made (living room). Kitchen is decorate Christmas fun.

After California, I’d take it easy on all the brush that close to a flame, Janis.

Wonder what the rest of the room looks like.

Cheer up Janis, it’s reversible, not like trimming hedge. And don’t ask Arlo.

Just one of the many reasons that I don’t decorate for anything.

My wife starts Christmas decorating the day after Thanksgiving. She finishes on Christmas eve. I’m still putting boxes away on Valentine’s day.

Every art work needs two artists. One to create it and the other to tell him when to stop.

My ex is like that. The present wife is more restrained and thinks the decorations in the first panel are a bit much. Unless it’s for the whole room.

Perfection is attained not when there is nothing more to add, but when there is nothing more to remove.

Reminds me of the story about the pearl.
The fisherman kept sanding off one bad spot after another to get the perfect pearl, and suddenly, the pearl was gone and only pearl dust remained.

Until the day that Trump is overthrown, no Christmas or New Years celebration will happen in our home.
