You should have taken it back and told her that she gave you the wrong thing. She probably would have given you the cake and told you to keep the pumpkin bar since you already had it in your bare hands. That way, you would have had two desserts.

Well, pumpkin bars are okay. No comparison to chocolate, of course, but still, not bad. Especially if they have cinnamon and/or nutmeg in them.
