Bit of an unlikely crossover here but, those of us into both cats and comics may be interested in a comment by the creator of New Adventures of Queen Victoria Pab Sungenis that his cat Tegan has a bit of a vet bill. I assume that drawing comics does not make one overly wealthy!

ALPHA CAT UPDATE

Oh boy, I have trouble believing part of what he is up to now…

Skunks – we sighted Alpha Cat hanging with three young skunks today. About 6 to 8 inches in body length. It look as if one has died but the other three are surviving and Alpha Cat is (still) their accepted leader/adoptive parent. So, the cat tribe now has three honorary members.

Lynx. We have had a Lynx hanging around of late, she’s been eyeing the birds through the wire. She did manage to snag one foolish bird through the mesh and mangled it.

Here’s the interesting thing – this morning Pat spotted the Lynx and Alpha Cat walking, quite companionably, across the road and into the field opposite us. No hostility, no pursuit, just two companions out for a stroll.

We knew that Alpha Cat has always had some kind of detente with his wild feline cousins (it appeared to be on the order of “Make no trouble for me and I’ll make no trouble for you”) but we sure as heck had no idea that it extended to his being able to hang out with them.

This is getting to be very intriguing. I’m wondering if we’re going to see some kind of formidable inter-species army wandering around the area soon.

In a seemly more realistic bent; I love how they take some any old picture of a person, jam it next to some tidbits together outrageously, and then attribute it to the subject in the photo, whether they actually were involved or not. Lotta fake news out there !
