“Mandolin or marimba”??? A mandolin is a stringed instrument and a marimba is similar to a xylophone or vibes that is played with a mallet. They would not sound anything alike. That’s like saying I can’t tell if that’s a piano or a guitar.
I don’t know about “greatest song in the universe”, but when out local PBS radio station had “Blues Before Dawn”, which finished up about 6 a.m. on Sundays, they always finished with Fleetwood Mac’s “Albatross.” That soft, haunting guitar could pull me out of the soundest sleep. Still mesmerizes me.
This swing-era track by Kay Kyser and his Kollege of Musical Knowledge, taken from the movie “Playmates”, features both a harpsichord and a soprano sarrusophone (half-way between a saxophone and an oboe). There’s a good chance that no other musical composition in the history of the world has employed that combination. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uFlbSumtH7g

And by suggesting it, I fully embrace the message.

Does Phoebe really have to talk louder than the radio?

It’s the greatest song in the universe, but Marigold still prefers to listen to Phoebe. Isn’t that a wonderful friendship?

Mandolin? Marimba? Good grief, how did Phoebe find out about Jethro Tull?!?

Everything Phoebe said could apply to “Within You and Without You” by George Harrison from “Sgt. Pepper.” Works for me, anyway.

How in God’s name can ANYONE confuse a string instrument and a percussion instrument for one another?
