Reminds me of that Seinfeld episode where the handsome doctor called Elaine (and everything else, including a very ugly baby) “breathtaking”. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JGQVYW9cMNE
Maybe the teacher is using the word to describe the continual acheivement of the A students and as an encouragement for the kid who got a C. In this sense, it is applied to each individual situation.
Gracie is right about one thing. The term has been so overused that it has very little meaning. Originally it was meant to describe God and His character.

From what I see, the first girl got “A+” and Gracie and the other kid got a simple “A”… just take it and move on, kid ;-)

I agree with Gracie. Some people have forgotten what “awesome” really means.

It’s odd if something has a bit of awe, it is awesome. But if something is full of awe, it is awful.

If you overuse a word, it becomes commonplace and loses some of it’s affect.

That and the word “absolutely” are WAY overused!

As Dash (Incredibles 1) said “that’s just another way of saying nobody is special”

The Grand Canyon is awesome. A galaxy is awesome. Doing your homework is good, but it doesn’t fall into the category of awesome things.

You keep using that word. I don´t think it means what you thinks it means.
