But, she never knew for sure did she.

OK, you got out attention. Then again, you probably can’t repeat the word with the censors.

Now she’s got him reading the whole dictionary. Oh, the words you will learn!

I remember looking up curse words when I was in my youth. It surprised me at the time that they were in a school dictionary.

What word! Should have told us.

When I was 9, I read the dictionary, both volumes. All the adults thought it was great. You’d think at least the teachers would have realized that a child with college reading and retention would learn a few things there that maybe she shouldn’t.

I had FUN with that – still do sometimes. But given the picture, and the likely section she looked at – L’s maybe? – I can’t think of anything off the top of my head…never mind, yes I can, no I’m not typing it here. Them.

To find such a word in a common dictionary is a bit of a surprise. Now if she was using an unabridged dictionary or the O.E.D., no telling what words she could find.

So many good words are disappearing from dictionaries.
