I changed mine yesterday. It’s been every three months (24hrs/day) since 1982 and my prescription hasn’t changed once, unlike almost every year when I wore glasses.
I wore hard contact lenses – the take out every night kind – for about 15 years, long before the long term or any soft lens was invented.
Now I wear 3-4 pairs of glasses a day. Progressive lenses out outside of the house. Old reading prescription glasses at desktop computer. Newer (very small change) reading prescription glasses while downstairs – such as right now. Distance glasses for watching TV in bed.
Add prescription sunglasses sometimes when out. Then since I do 1770s reenacting I have a pair of distance glasses and a pair of sunglasses for same, as well as different distance and sunglasses for the few days a year we do late 19th century reenacting.
And yet, I take off all the glasses and hold the item I reading closer when I am reading a book or magazine.

You don’t take them out every night?

Contacts make you look normal, but instead of giving your eyes added protection you run the risk of more damage from impact.

Perhaps the real problem is that she is entering the cataract stage of life.

Hey, it’s still a hug. I wouldn’t complain. And maybe you discovered something fun and different.

My wife noticed that sometimes when we hug, I pull my head back a bit. Then realized I am trying to get her into focus.

I don’t think it’s her contacts. They haven’t done this in a long time. They’re just out of practice.

I usually have my prescription changed when my arms get too short to read. I’m too lazy to do it more often than that.

Why are you complaining?
You got a good solid contact hug out of it. :)

When you’re that close you don’t need eyes! :o)

Arlo and Janis has gotten tiresome. There’s never any dialog in the first three frames.

Say, isn’t that how Tiny Tim made Miss Vicki pregnant? ☺

Now that I need bifocals, I find I can’t judge distances up close. When my kids approach for a hug, I have to close my eyes or it is disorienting.

My vision has been bad all my life but I have never had this or any of the otherProblems shown in moves or tv.

Reminds me of a blue joke about a new bride, groom, him ending up in the bushes outside and her stuck on a doorknob.

I hate wearing my eye glasses, but contacts are out. I can’t even put eye drops in my eyes with out help.

I think he means when did she have her eyes checked.
