The same old “trickle down” scam that has never worked.
Didn’t work under Hoover.
Didn’t work under Reagan.
Didn’t work under Bush (Senior or Junior).
Not working under Trump.
Or maybe it has worked perfectly for its true purpose, just the way they designed it — to REDISTRIBUTE the wealth produced by middle class working people to the few richest elites who already have the most while pretending it is supposed to help working people and the middle class.
It does NOT work the way scam artists try to sell it to gullible suckers.
It works perfectly for billionaire CON men.
(The term “Trickle down” was first coined by Will Rogers, ridiculing the failed Herbert Hoover strategy for ending the Great Depression that resulted from his economic policies. Rogers said: “The money was all appropriated for the top in the hopes that it would trickle down to the needy. Mr. Hoover was an engineer. He knew that water trickled down. Put it uphill and let it go and it will reach the driest little spot. But he didn’t know that money trickled up. Give it to the people at the bottom and the people at the top will have it before night anyhow. But it will at least have passed through the poor fellow’s hands.”)
The trickle down aka the Great Tax Heist, i.e., the crime wherein the perps are returned to office every time and adding salt to the wound returned on our dime.
“There are two ideas of government. There are those who believe that if you will only legislate to make the well-to-do prosperous, their prosperity will leak through on those below. The Democratic idea, however, has been that if you legislate to make the masses prosperous, their prosperity will find its way up through every class which rests upon them.” – William Jennings Bryan, 1896
Why is it that no one seems to remember that economic growth is very much like plant growth? It starts at the BOTTOM, the roots, and goes UP from there, not from the top down!
Ah well. Recent market losses have wiped out all gains for 2018. But, as the GOP loves to tell us, “but the principle is sound.” Actually, it isn’t as any economist will tell you. But the GOP loves doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results. Einstein had a word for that – but that was before the most stable genius ever and his infallible gut.
Both Republican and democrat policies keep the rich, rich. If you think this can be fixed you’re just delusional, there will always be poor and rich. So you better go back to your bars, your templesYour massage parlours.
Hood, there may always be poor and rich, that depends on value systems. A poor person may be richer in spirit than any trump. The rules of the game should not be oppressive to the mass population. They should also not be such that they take away a drive for excellence.
When the numbers are much closer, when the rich aren’t a thousand times more than the poorest person that supports any democratic thinking. But in our country as in others when the wealth is in too few hands than any pretense to a republic or democracy are negated by it. You get a defacto Plutocracy—-rule of the rich.
Promising people that he would redistribute the wealth worked for number 44, guess that’s how he and his misses can now afford an 8 million dollar house

Saw somewhere the definition of trickle down, “It’s like when they pee on your head and tell you it’s raining.”

The biggest lie that the Republicans push.
The whole idea that helping the rich get richer will somehow make things better for the rest of us.
Only idiots believe in the trickle down lie.

You mean Bob Stockman, the head of the OMB under Reagan who later declared that trickle down economics didn’t work?
