I suspect it’s Maddie as Ralph doesn’t wear poke-a-dot dresses.

Ralph is watching from behind the other slit.

It’s easy to find out. Throw a tomato at each slit and see who emerges shaking their fist and has juice around their eyes.

I usually avoid their street…Ted sometimes makes comments about you and it’s creepy hearing a disembodied voice coming from the lawn.

It’s like a painting in which the eyes seem always to follow you.

What’s a teeeny bit creepy to me, if that’s really Maddie in the polka dots…. is that I feel like I should be seeing a sliver of her face…. where is her head?

And if Ralph is behind the other slit…. whoa!

Is he invisible, or does he have (as Maddie’s father used to say about him)…. big ol’ holes in his head?

Say… Rose? Who’s Ted? Is there more going on in this quiet little neighborhood than I think?

Just start up your lawn mower, snow blower, and vacuum cleaner. Get your dog to barking while leaning on the car horn. One of them will have to see what’s going on. The other will go into their “cool” above it all head space.

Pop smoke…..then use it for cover while out flanking their position. They are well fortified but have exposed their flanks.

Ralph knew he’d find a good auction buy, down at the old double-door speakeasy…
