When an author resorts to a preposterous plot device to resolve an impossible situation, it’s usually referred to as “Deus ex machina,” or “God from the machine.”
I would use that here, except that I can’t in good conscience refer to this idiot as a “god.” so I resorted to Google Translate, and hereby refer to this as “Stultus ex vicis apparatus.”
If we are fated to live the lives that we do, and end the way that we do, then it’s up to us to do whatever we can to enjoy the ride while it lasts. Fate dictates that I finish this bottle of Johny Walker, before I start the next one. That rocks.

Moral of the story….some say stupidity is a condition, others that it is a choice. What is indisputable is what it eventually leads to.
