Ironic, isn’t it? What we wouldn’t give right now for a President who rewards people for acting as ‘points of light’ instead of a President who belittles his predecessor who thought up that idea…

It doesn’t matter if the audience does not get into it. The fact is that it is on your resume. Work it.

A local politician called to ask if he could help our volunteers pack the Christmas baskets for underprivileged families. We replied that he would be welcome to help; but there could be no photos, as some of the volunteers were from the underprivileged families. He didn’t show.

Has anyone talked about where the drug dealers went after they fled the Muzak?

As long as there’s DEMAND, there’ll be supply.

You know how drug dealers make their money? They sell to Americans, who have lots of it. You know where that money goes? To Latin America (home to most of the world’s coca plants) and Afghanistan (home to most of the world’s opium poppies). You know what the 2 leading sources of our national distress are? Yeah, you guessed it, the very underworld criminals who are rolling in all that drug money we’re sending their way. We’re financing both sides of our border problems and our nation’s longest war.

OTOH, look what happened when we repealed Prohibition. Sure, alcohol still can be a terribly destructive drug, but its abuses are treated as medical problems, not legal ones, and responsible vendors of it are pillars of the community — law-abiding, tax-paying, job-creating solid citizens. And none of them want to risk their livelihoods by selling to minors (unlike drug dealers, who will gladly sell to anyone).

The awful consequences of the War on Drug-Using Americans just goes on and on! Why can’t we learn from experience?

Speaking of media circuses, why did any networks follow Trump to the border for his photo op? The only people there were those his staff required to attend. Where’s the news in this?

In my dreams, if they all skipped it, maybe he’d stop grandstanding and do something REAL! But it’s only a dream.

A pretty good illustration of today’s “journalists” “doing their job.”
