my sister when she was real little, not only does she have dyslexia, but also said words mixed up, prime example was “suppose to”, she would say pose-sa to. Took her till almost 12 before her brain would flip it.
Those cute sayings leave an indelible imprint in families for generations. My uncle when he was a child, apparently, asked each Christmas for a ‘licorice train, made by lions.’ Mother served ‘cow flowers,’ which we all hated, except our littlest sister who slathered hers with ‘nays.’
Children are worse the older ones can be tactless and brutal with the younger ones on those “cute” mispronunciations. I was rather good at dinosaur names, what they were and to draw them.

Being considered “cute”: a fate worse than death for kids, who are so concerned about their fragile self-image….

Once you know what you said is cute, it’s no longer cute.

Being “Cute” only gets a kid smothered by an overweight Auntie that bathed in some obnoxious perfume!

When do you stop enjoying your kid’s adorable mispronunciations, and start correcting them?

When I was that age, I wanted to be on Art Linkletter and say the darnedest things.

Momma always said, “Don’t be cute you friggin’ ‘tard.” Momma had issues.
