Kind of dumb thing to get upset over, so long as the nature of the sandwich was revealed up front. It’s up to everyone whether or not they want to be Vegan or Vegetarian. To be sure, if he lives with Vegan parents, that’s all he’s going to get at home.

Should have given Timmy some cigarettes afterwards to hide the scent of the sandwich, tobacco is a plant his parents might have perfered it that way.
