My apologies. After posting, I actually did Google “Lassie” and it made no mention at all of “Timmy”, referring instead to her “young male master.”
Basically, Lassie lived on a farm and her young farm boy companion was named “Timmy.” It seemed like every episode young Timmy would find himself in some life threatening situation, such as falling down a well, that Lassie would have to save him from. This usually meant running back to the farm house and alerting his family that he was in trouble. Some member of the family would look deep into Lassie’s eyes and command “Find Timmy!” Lassie would lead them to wherever he was, allowing the family to rescue him, thus saving the day. (And Timmy!)
