Elvis’ audio effect is probably more clear to the Man than the endless MEOWs.

If I get up at 4:30am to go to the bathroom they think, “Oh, she’s up. Must be time to eat.” Then they congregate outside the bathroom. And, the hurt looks when I go back to bed.

This is a 100% spot-on observation. At our house, no matter what time my hubby walks in the door (farmers have no regular hours), it must be dinner time.

Very smart to establish the Man as the one who feeds them. Otherwise they’d be asking the Woman this question all day long.

Boys remember – if you trip him, and he breaks a bone, your dinner will be delayed.

With all due respect to Hobbits. A normal cat’s mealtimes:

    7:00am – Breakfast. 9:00am – Second Breakfast. 11:00am – Elevenses.

    1:00pm – Luncheon. 4:00pm – Afternoon Tea. 6:00pm – Dinner. 8:00pm – Supper.

If I get home on time, the Silly Creature only asks for food until I sit down, then pins me for some epic cuddling. If I get home later than usual, she alternately insists I play with her and demands to be fed, especially if it’s past dinner time and Mom has already fed her . . .

We have Lupin toe beans. We also have the more rarely seen Elvis smile. We’ll also have some much different expressions if the Man’s answer is anything but “yes”.

My cats are driving me nutty! 3 of the 4 of them will scratch at my closet door or the basement door, usually starting around 2:00AM, either for me to feed each one individually or to let them go downstairs or outside. It goes on and on for at least 2 hours, until all of them have sufficiently done their “job” of not letting me sleep.

Good morning, everyone. I hope you all had a good New Year’s Day. We had a wonderful time at my daughter’s, baked ham with mashed potatoes and carrots, and an ice cream confection for dessert. A good time was had by all.

On a sadder note, here is a transcript of an e-mail I received from Skykey’s wife: “Dear Katherine, Gil passed away on December 10 between 7:30 and 1:30 in the morning in his sleep. I will follow up with more. I’m trying to post on BCN I don’t know why it isn’t working. My name I’m using is SKYKEY2. Thank-you to all for all the love, Gil got great joy from all the messages. I will send more details later. Thank-you for the help, Jeanne.”

I know most of us will want to send comforting messages to his wife like the wonderful orbsters we are. I’ll pass on your messages to Jeanne.

When I get home Sammy tries to herd me to the food bowls because he is wasting away from starvation (there is usually still kibble in the bowl) while Dean tries to herd me in the opposite direction towards the back door because he must get outside and stalk birdies – which he can’t get to as the deck’s enclosed but it he still tries

I laugh when Gandalf, the recovering feral, tries to convince me that the chow bowl is empty (it’s not). Gandalf knows when he’s in a good environment, but he has been “enjoying the riches” and “stocking up for later”. Er, he’s gotten a little rotund.

This is my house when the Man (my partner) returns from work. Even if he is a bit late I don’t feed them, because this is what happens when he comes home from work regardless if they have been feed or not.

This is Akiro when his papa comes home, too. Me? I’m clearly not worth begging at, so he ignores me most days – other than to see if I’m being followed by Papa or his dog.

We have a small amount of ham leftover from New Year’s.

My three show their inherited “tiger eats wild boar” side.

    I could have a sandwich…but

Must share ham! Must share ham! Must share ham!
