As small kids we used to try to “get up a parade.” Of course there were only a handful of us…to the neighbours we were just kids, strangely dressed, playing Follow The Leader. Nobody lined up and cheered for us but of course it was midmorning, usually on a weekday.
On my block, it was “Let’s put on a play.” There weren’t enough kids to have an audience once everyone was cast in whatever “play” we made up on the spot. And the elementary school age performers were cooperative, but the toddler extras were less “cast” than wrangled… with uneven results.

Wasn’t Independence Day twenty days ago, Charlie Brown (if that’s the case of your parade with Snoopy)?

My siblings and I often had “parades,” during which we used pots and pans as instruments.

Charlie Brown should at least have a kazoo or a radio playing a march…
