well, in Japan, the school year beings in April, but then there’s the autumn trimester after summer vacation is over

I miss that schools no longer start in September. Early August is much too soon. It’s too hot and Summer then is barely half over.

Hope he remembers the twenty-first night of September.

What I love about September: beginning of autumn (my favorite season); our anniversary; my husband’s birthday; my father’s birthday; school starting (my girls actually like school, so it’s a happy occasion); my parents’ anniversary (when Mom was alive); the Earth, Wind & Fire song. What I DON’T like about September: car registration; car inspection; license renewal (since my birthday is at the beginning of October I need to do it in September); added bills (birthday shopping, back-to-school shopping; starting to use more gas & electricity).

I used to make my own calendars and would choose two colors for each month. September was the most dismal for me, too. Not just because school was starting, but also because my maternal grandpa died in September. So I would always color September in black and grey.

Starting school was a bummer. Also, February has the fewest days, but is the LONGEST month of the year.

I always though September was a great month, and they made an adjustment to it by starting school.

California, school always started in September. Of course, that was in the 60’s and 70’s. Probably they torture kids year-round now.
