none of the Peanuts books we had growing up had this cartoon. the roots of the ‘Lucy swipe’

And so it begins….

And somewhere, concealed in a nearby bush, Lucy is watching…

He might have if he is a right-footed kicker like he appears to be… you’re on the wrong side of the ball, Violet… ;-)

So it begins of abusing Charlie with the football…..

Well well could it be? The first time?

A conspiracy from the very beginning…I knew it!

And a trope is born.

A legend has born.

But Violet had her reason (sort of), Lucy pulled it away on purpose.

I love seeing the foreshadowing of later peanuts that pops up in these.
