‘Somebody’ ought to go see the show, else it will feel lonely.

a whole quarter for a show, I remember those days; and a nickel for popcorn plus another nickel for butter.

Whatsa matter, Charlie Brown, don’t wanna be teased by the boys for playing with a girl like Violet Grey?

The quarter would end up being lost in the sand anyway!

I’ve spent time in sandboxes as a little kid but for the life of me, I can’t remember what we actually DID in them…besides avoiding what the neighborhood cats left overnight.

Th equivalent of $2.50 today. What inflation has wrought!

Oh, I remember those days. And the popcorn was a nickel, unless you wanted butter, then it was 10 cents. Never did try butter on popcorn except what my dad made for us at home.

Isn’t a quarter rather a lot of money to give to a three – five year old?

A quarter for a show? And, is this “show” of which they speak?

Well I envy all of you who remember those days. Unfortunately, MY memory is like Mark Twain’s (I just finished watching the Ken Burns shows on him.)

“When I was young I could remember most everything, whether they really happened or not. Now my memory is not so good and I can only remember the things that didn’t happen.”

I remember when we could go to a movie for free if you collected enough Coke bottle caps.

“Happiness is 35 cents for the movie, 10 cents for popcorn, & 5 cents for a candy bar!”

But the question is how long did it take to earn 50 cents at that time?
