Normally you would use your hands for balance, but their arms are way too short.

I remember doing this, thumping down on the living room carpet. When I finally learned to do it, I was so happy.

I generally had to use a chair or the wall. Personally, I tended to be more of a somersault man.

I never could do a headstand nor a handstand. The best inverted stand I could manage was the 3 point stand: head and 2 hands in contact with the floor, forming a triangle.
