More seriously, these strips are from the 1950s. It was in 1954 that the autobiography My Left Foot was published, about Christy Brown, who painted with his left foot because he had no other options.
I can relate – my teachers were nice and all, but I certainly remember my 5 year old eyes being amazed at some of the art my classmates came up with in comparison to what I could do.
