Can you still buy marbles? I remember when I was about their age my parents bought me a marble arena. It blew up and looked like a wading pool to keep the marbles from being shot out a long ways and lost.
Used to love the game of marbles. I have a jar of marbles made back in the late 30s handed down to me from grandparents, & parents. Did this video when 83. At 85 & still playing 5-string & tenor banjos, but now forgetting many tunes I used to play.
When I was a kid, one of the other kids had steel balls and played with them, they came from a bearing factory and were very hard to shoot them with the normal glass ones!
back in the days when we worked in an office, i would oftentimes carry around 2 or 3 marbles i found in my junk drawer, and show them and say: see i haven’t lost them all yet

So that’s what happened — Charlie Brown lost his marbles years ago!

Just look at the bright side like Bob Dylan did when he sang: “When you ain’t got nothing, you got nothing to lose”

A small question, how do you carry 900 marbles?

Will this early experience teach Charlie Brown not to gamble?

Thirty years ago, someone gave me two marbles, and I’ve been carrying them around in my bike bag ever since.

Funny but I never played marbles on the street the way Charlie Brown and Patty are. But I did play Chinese Checkers with marbles.

900 marbles? How many kids had that amount back then?

Having all your marbles is overrated.

Not sure how much marbles went for back in the early ‘50s, but I’m willing to bet nine hundred marblesw wasn’t cheap for a kid to buy back then.
