Well, no wonder….she really uses her head,

Just don’t do it with a wet sucker.

Head first, that explains alot about her thinking.

Okay, then, we’ll leaf her to it.

C’mon Charlie, as she’s starting the dive into the leaf pile, sweep the leaf pile away! It’s payback for the times she pulls the football away when you try to kick it!

The missing piece of the puzzle as to why Lucy turned into a meanie – leaf diving and hitting her head on the ground too often and too hard

Back in 2010, my husband almost died from a horrible infection but survived. It was a rough time for all of us. In order to cheer up & entertain our daughters (who were 8 and 5 at the time), the teenage boy next door would ride his bike full-tilt-boogie, slam on the breaks, fly over the handlebars & land in a huge leaf pile at the end of our (dirt) driveway. The girls loved it; I was simultaneously impressed and horrified.

That’s quite the arc she’s got there – tough on the neck.

That explains why she ended like that.

It looks like Schulz took a drawing of Lucy standing up and rotated it. Fortunately his style would become more creative.

Ah, now we know why. She goes in head first.

Karma would be for Charlie Brown to pull the pile of leaves out of her diving path at the last second.

…and VanPelt goes for a triple somersault with a jackknife bend – AND NAILS IT!

Head first; the pile better be high enough.

Finally, I’ve learned why Lucy is so nuts, head first, won’t damage anything vital…

And that is how she became a quadriplegic

Most divers put their hands above their head, but I don’t think the Peanuts’ arms are long enough to do that.
