Takes me about three minutes to cut my hair. No waiting. Note: my Sear hair trimmer is 72 years old. Had to replace the plastic spacer blades, but that’s it.
Hahah! This one is good… but it has an ADDED, albeit unintentional, bit of humor as well…..
There is no way in hell that in a traditional, old-school barber shop would have only a ten-minute wait, even with only one person ahead who was as bald as a cue ball! The mustached barber, if he is true-to-form…. would gab and pontificate five minutes between each closing of the scissors! That is all part of the experience! You need to expect in a real, old-school-barber, to be there the lion’s share of the afternoon…. and…. that is a good place to be. :)
The barber shop I used when I was a kid always had guys in it just sitting around and talking. In December, the owner would buy 2 100# sacks of unshelled peanuts for his customers and the shells would be thrown on the floor to be swept up with the hair ! ! !
There was a shop in Fairhope ,Alabama that was like going to a local news station. By the time you left you knew everybody and everything that took place lately.
I recall a couple of barber shops. Everybody brought their latest magazines for anyone to read. They were multipurpose community centers. No gossip, but you could get much of the latest news not in print, not on radio or tv. Often helpful information was to be had from someone’s experience or knowledge.

This particular barbershop must cater only to the “dog people” in Plugger land… :-P

Way way back, the Barbershop was a social gathering place. To hurry through was not necessarily the goal.

The difference between a good haircut and a bad one is about two weeks.

My barber spends twice as long on my eyebrows as on the rest of my head…
