They aren’t that bad of a bug – since they eat other bugs…. but jeez what are they eating that lets them get to 2 to 3 inches long??? ::shudder:: On the other hand, I know my cats are getting old – because I actually see the occassional house centipede. When the cats were younger they’d take care of the many legged fast Cat Toy(s), I mean, centipedes. :)
I occasionally see a “feather” out of the corner of my eye, then I jump 3 feet when I realize the feather has a bazillion legs. I try to capture bugs in a plastic cup and place them outside (it’s freezing cold, sorry) , but these things start disintegrating as soon as anything touches them. shudder

That’s a cute as well as polite house centipede if I ever saw one! At least cuter than these two.

“House centipedes are known for killing pests in your house that are completely unwelcome. They kill roaches, moths, flies, silverfish and termites.

Silverfish indicate that your cedar roof shingles are rotting.

They bite. It really hurts.
The centipedes also bite, but it’s not as bad.

Don’t hate them, they are Nature’s clean up crew. Just stay away from them. Unlike millipedes, they have a venomous bite.
