it’s not easy owning a dog (I know for I’ve never owned one as I’ve repeatedly and countlessly said)

Can’t blame the dog for poor training by his/her owner. Just giving them food and a place to live isn’t enough.

The unfortunate thing is that many pet owners don’t understand that a dog needs training. They think of them like big stuffed animals that are good to cuddle and then ignore when you have other things to do…

I did not know that Farley got killed. Why do commenters like to tell us the endings before hand? That’s mean.

I wasn’t allowed to show “yellow snow,” but the suggestion was OK.

Dogs are so much like kids, with the sobering difference that when they are particular bad or sick, they can easily face a death sentence.

Don’t worry folks. Farley is going to be one big hero some day.

I have been known to say this or similar when mine are particularly annoying. Try thinking when two of them are jumping up and down for “biscuit” or “out”. Aargh.

I’d be the one holding up the small dog to keep it away from the bigger dog, that wants to have the little one for his dinner.

Opinions are like.. erm, Okoleʻs. Everyone has one. (look it up, Hawaiian language.)

The Pattersons have been shown to be irresponsible pet owners before. Farley is allowed to roam the neighborhood and they get surprised when he wanders farther than they expected. They don’t train him and wonder why he gets into the trash.

Letting him run loose is the height of mismanagement of the pet.

Not to worry, Farl, it takes a while for Lynn Johnston to get around to killing you.
