Well, taking a vow of poverty means you don’t have much mess to clean up. (Or it might mean you’re a lowly government worker. Whichever comes first.)
A cluttered room means a cluttered mind (or so they used to tell us…)
Public schools in Appalachia in the 1960s were pretty tough too. And we got a good education and learned how to behave as well.
