We survived – no, thrived – when millions of Irish, Italian, & other hordes of immigrants came to our shores in the 19th century (Know-Nothing Party notwithstanding). We’ll survive & thrive with the Mexican wave too (modern Know-Nothing Party notwithstanding).
BTW, the expression “Wop” for Italian immigrants derives from so many of them having thrown their IDs & other papers overboard during the voyage after hearing (rightly or wrongly) that they couldn’t be deported if the US didn’t know where to send them back to. Immigration officials listed them as “WOP” – “WithOut Papers” – & the epithet stuck.

That is why Trump hires them for his construction projects, hotels and vineyards.

Think of the money Trump would save using illegals to build his wall and then he could stay consistent and stiff them, saving even more.

Everybody agrees that America’s legal immigration system is a mess. Nobody agrees on how to fix it.

Most coming are not Mexican. And we have the fewest coming in in 20 years. The lowest of numbers. More are leaving than coming in.
