Hardly, Ours left when the birdbath froze. Our squirrels sit on the edge of it and look at the house as if to accuse us of neglect. Not spoiled so much as expecting the water that they need for the winter. We put out small bowls, but they freeze too. There are heated water bowls, but that gets a little bit too pricey.
In some parts of the country flying south is still cold. Infact I just read were 1,000 birds fell dead from the sky in Arkansas. Scientists are still looking for the answers. I know how kind Ziggy is I’m sure he will find a way to keep that bird warm.
I wonder if a small solar panel would generate enough power to keep the water above freezing during the day. Although you’d have to brush the snow (and bird doo) off of it from time to time…
I’m not sure birds need to ‘bathe’ in Winter time.
I’m guessing too that they must have had the water thing figured out long before we humans started making bird baths.
@Ziggydude by doing a search on line. Type in American Greeting cards. There is a site that lets you put in your Zip code and it will tell you the locations where the cards are sold by you. In my area they are sold at K-Mart, Meijers grocery stores, Deals, Wal-Mart, Dollar Tree, and CVS Pharmacy. Good Luck to you!

My Ziggy, always the nature lover.
I’ve been called a squirrel whisper, because I seem to have a way of command with squirrels around the critter feeder in my back forest.
The 2011 day by day calendar is super as ever. However I am having trouble finding the American Greeting cards.
Any hints would be greatly appreciated.
