    @Grog: I’ve seen some snow sculptures at the Snowfest in Frankenmuth, Michigan that come pretty close to this, and they stayed intact very nicely. There was a great one of Jack Skellington from “The Nightmare Before Christmas” that managed to stay in one piece for a couple days, even with Jack’s skinny legs. Has a lot to do with the temperature. I also suspect Red used a stick as a support, for this sculpture.

    Make ice legs for added support. Use a hair drier around the sculpture to melt the snow, which will turn to ice for support if the climate is cold enough.
