My grandparents had what they though was a ghost that lived under their house. It would mad a “poot” sound under the house at night. Because of that, they called him “Ol’ Pooter”. It turns out it was an armadillo.
My theory is that if ghosts could throw physical objects, given that there are more dead people than live people (1 living:29 dead – source: https://www.bbc.com/news/magazine-16870579) being hit by objects being thrown by ghosts would be a daily occurrence and wouldn’t be anything “strange” or “odd”. The fact that this only appears to happen on those ghost hunting “reality” shows and other dubious sources, it’s safe to say no one is actually being haunted by ghosts.
