Aw, what a good bath tub boy Louie! Our Foster is learning about baths, stinky puppy! They rushed him with the tub and scared him with the blowdryer when she sent him to the groomers, so I am starting from scratch (not the cat).
Yesterday we were able to fill the sink with water and use a drenched washcloth on him. Not a full bath but a definite improvement in the trust department! Time, patience and gentle persistence. He is really a different dog since coming back to me!
(For those who don’t know this story, I fostered a very scared, badly injured stray dog last year for 6 weeks, then after 11 months the adopter gave him back, saying it wasn’t working out so I have decided to keep him. Foster Fail! Lol!
Blows my mind – He is a really good boy, just a bit fearful and he is making huge strides every day! :)
We adopted a 5 year old Huskie/Lab cross about a month ago. Her name is Maggie. We got her at the shelter. We are the fourth owners—and we will be her forever owners. Two previous owners brought her to the shelter because they did not have any time for her and another did not want the expense of owning a dog! She is well behaved, affectionate, very intelligent, gets along with our two cats, loves people and fine with other dogs. Vet says she had frost bite on her paws in the past and some teeth are worn down from biting her metal crate and it seems she had been locked up a lot and alone a lot. She is going to the groomers next week for a bath—it will be her first since we got her. My wife and I waited 3 years to get another dog after our beloved Sugar died. It is the right time for us and she is the right dog for us. We find it hard to fathom how anyone for any reason could give her up. She is ours forever…
I have two cat rescues and I often think the same thing. They are perfect and beautiful. I finally realized it was because we were meant for each other. It doesn’t matter why the bad things happened. The three of us were supposed to be together and so we found our way to each other.
We have always had a rescue animal in the house. I can’t think of life without one. All the love. My Frankie is a corgi/cattle dog mix with such a laid back personality I trained him as a therapy dog. I love taking him to the Veterans Rehab Center as he is a favorite with the vets.

That might actually be a good idea. If one of our extended crew is looking for an idea to make money, that may be it right there!

Flavored scent? Food scented would be more accurate, unless Louis is eating the shampoo.

Heck—sign me up for some of that Cheeseburger shampoo. In theory, anyway …
Hope the captain has the grill ready to go, too, just in case.
Happy Sunday, Crew.
