That 10 minute drive is usually either one that can make you see your entire life pass before your eyes, make you wonder if it was the other side of the family were the ones with that set of really dumb genes, or make you remember how short a time ago you bounced them on your knee.

I took all three of my teenage kids to large snowy parking lots to thrash the car around fast. I believe they should learn to handle the vehicle well before learning the rules of the road. The oldest is now 44, and they’re still all accident free – touch wood.

I figured a true plugger would be doing that for their grandkids.

I know this is a common theme in comedies and cartoon strips. However, no one in my family has ever asked that question. Some might have asked how much longer before we get there, though.
