I cleaned my out twice a year and kept it neat and organized, by color, style and what it was skirt, blouse, jacket etc. Now my sister’s was another story and one day my mother took it all out of her closet, and put it in her bed, including the stuff on the floor of her closet and told her to put it all back neatly or it was all going to be donated. She put it back and did a passable job with my mother correctly her on all the stuff in the wrong place LOL
Shouldn’t the really bad jeans be taken to a place that accepts clothing and cloth to be recycled? Stylish holes in jeans may be in style but if they’re falling apart, most girls will be embarrassed wearing them.
My confusion here is – "WHY does Luann want to clutter her closet with clothes that don’t fit or are damaged? Let them go on to their next adventure…
When I was a growing child, any clothes that survived long enough became hand-me-downs for a cousin or friend of the family (which was where a lot of the clothes came from, too). Clothes that didn’t survive were rags for the ragbag, or fabric for quilting.
Now I wear clothes til they are well and truly rags, and then they go into the ragbag or fabric stash (if any is salvageable. Since I get clothes from yard sales and thrift stores, I do occasional get some that don’t fit – these get donated to food banks that also hand out clothing to the needy for free.
Goodwill would be a good recipient, too, but the food bank is closer.
When I was 18, I lived at home for free and commuted to college, while working to pay all of my tuition and school expenses. Because I lived in her house my mother decided she had the right to sneak into my room while I was at work and go through my closet and get rid of everything she didn’t like. That was mid-1970s and I still haven’t forgotten how much it hurt that she would disrespect me so.

Nooooo! Not Goodwill! Much more of your donation will help the poor if you donate to Salvation Army.

Lose weight? You’re a growing child, and not one who is overweight.
