Just exactly how big is the ANCHOR that’s tied to this story? Yesterdays strip could have been done without, and even tho they spent two full days letting us know that the lead actor is a lush, he hasn’t been seen since.. so theres THREE LOST DAYS that could have been better used. Throw in todays offering and you’ve got almost a FULL WEEK OF WASTED TIME!
Haf-n-Haf is obviously gonna mistake the actor for tracy and murder him first, and by the end of this thing tracy will be taking the stage to be the fill in… either that or the whole climax will take place on stage and everyone in the audience will think its part of the play.
By the by, how many times in the last couple of years have we seen “The Story of Dick Tracy” done in this strip as either part of a play, movie, or cosplay? I think Mike needs some new ideas.
Maybe tracy can wander around the desert and get abducted by aliens, then come back as a totally different person and none of the other cast say a thing… or maybe tess will have a dream that Tracy dies in a hit and run and the team takes a full year to try and solve it, only to have tess wake up and find tracy in the shower?
Hmm; panel 3 Vitamin looks to be about 8 feet tall and 500 pounds, compared to “little shrimp” Tracy. —A rare draughting error by Joe, IMO.
And, jimakin, I don’t get a vulture-y vibe from Sam (panel 2); what would the symbolism be? He seems to me not to be a carrion-feeder hovering over some dead body. I think he’s just wearing his warm, winter-weather “wintergreen” coat (sweet!)….
And, BTW, when is Kandikane due? In panel 1, she looks about ripe to explode!
Final Word: Today’s strip does seem rather like filler, not advancing the plot much if at all….

Good morning™, doppelganger checkers!
I think Joe has done his own inking for this week, but Vitamin looks like a chipmunk, especially in the first panel.

Tracy commenting on his own wardrobe choices? Isn’t that breaking the “fourth wall”? A serious offense in a comic strip.

For a stretch, he could play John Barrymore in his later years.

Is anyone else’s spider-sense tingling from the Vulture-y vibe of Sam’s green coat and furry white collar?
