Possibly it was mom, I know when I find money just laying around in my grandkids bedrooms I put it in a drawer so it is not visible but I tell them I put it away.
As kids, we had our own banks and used a butter knife to fish out coins to see what we had. Never once was envious of each other – just curious. My brother had a little bank that added up dimes. When it was full, he bought a five foot plastic boat and paddle, with a little help from our Dad, at the Holiday gas station. We had it for years but it was the dumbest thing you could put in the water. Paddling just spun you around if you didn’t tip it and sink. And the bank was just full of Mercury dimes!
