The only inaccuracy I notice in this Pteranodon depiction is the fact that recent studies show that pterosaurs launched with their forelimbs instead of their legs.
With that said, it’s still more accurate than Jurassic World or The Good Dinosaur, ironically enough.
As a kid, friend of mine tried something similar, trying to be Superman. Broke the two bones in his forearm. Doctor said they were lucky that was all he broke.
Reminds me of the announcement before episodes of the 60’s Batman to the effect. “Please remember that Batman can not fly”. Always wondered if someone had tried it.
Hahahaah, phenomenal comic timing. Mom looking out the window at the ladder, IMMEDIATELY recognizing what’s going to happen, and then bursting out the door while screeching. Putting the jacket on is a great “i’m going outside” shorthand, even though it makes no sense (your son’s gonna jump on the roof, but YOU NEED A JACKET, FIRST?).
When I was little superman was still on TV and every kid thought, at least a little, that the towel you wrap around your neck would make you fly. Of course, the smarter ones discovered immediately, it didn’t. We enjoyed watching some of our less dubious peers jump out of windows and trees to prove their ‘faith’. Never liked the ensuing crying and fuss though.
I was really into the TV Superman back in the day (around 1962). My Mom explained “now you know this isn’t real”, of course I knew, but it didn’t stop me from jumping off the shed with my new boots and a cape. My ankles hurt like HELL when I landed.
Think I was maybe 6. They were building an office and school addition to my dads church. The floor of his office was maybe 8 feet above the ground. Having watched numerous episodes of Combat, I Knew how to parachute land. Bit my tongue and almost knocked myself out when I hit the sand pile below and plowed my knees into my jaw.

And Mom says, Calvin you’re to young to fly. When you get to 2nd grade you can fly away.

Mom was delayed by a split second of indecision.
Should she let him jump or shouldn’t she?

Better stop him if that’s possible before he hurts himself.

She wasted time putting a jacket on. Calvin should try that when Rosalyn is there, because she wouldn’t try to stop him.

Don’t look now, but Calvin just flew the coop.

He’s a strong little kid to be able to set that ladder up by himself.

Because of course you want to be comfortable while you rescue your child from the roof!

Remember, Calvin, falling never hurt ANYONE. It’s the sudden stop at the bottom that will mess you up…

The mind of a child can be the most wonderful form of transportation. How sad to lose it only to become an “adult!”

How many kids even know what a pteranodon is? If he lives, which is not guaranteed by any means, he will be another HAWKing.
