In Australia, the expression “get rooted” shouldn’t be used in polite society, lol.

Poor puppy. Those cockle burs can be a real pain in the tail.

The burrs here don’t pull out in one piece The core comes out, but all the stickers stay there. If your dog has tight curly hair like mine does, you have to cut them out.

A Labrador shrub? It would be very cute but shed its leaves all year long!

    That’s Sophie’s attempt at camouflage.

How do I convince my Sophie that eating sticks will turn her into a shrub? Or chewing up 2×4 lumber will turn her into a tree? Or eating wool socks will turn her into a sheep?

Feral cat Black Sabbath has a tail with the end bent into a loop. (Don’t think it was a birth defect, we think it was some jerk hurting him!) He’ll come around with all kinds of things stuck in his loopy tail and you can tell he thinks he looks so cool, swinging his tail and his butt. Nothing harmful yet, like burrs, but we think a little flag might be fun someday… :)

I’m always picking leaves, sticks, grass and pine straw out of Moxie’s fur. Hers is long so they have more places to stick and hide.
