Today’s episode brought to you in living color. Extravagant and yet formal. As bright as Ellsworth Kelly, as beautifully assembled as Hans Hoffman. (An image search on Hoffman will illustrate what I mean.) I keep coming back to this and just LOOKING.
The other little technical flourish I love today is the placement of our protagonist in each panel. It goes… four panels of silent Nancy, full sized and center of focus… and then, diminished, moved off center, tiny little utterance in a tiny little balloon, all but obscured by a fleet of larger, louder balloons.

They’re never gonna forgive Nancy never. They’re gonna hate her for the rest of their lives.

Anyone else notice the snooty girl from the magnet school is sitting in front of them?

Nancy did a neutral, “sure” response to the “who’s excited” query.

What season is this? In the 3rd panel there’s a kid with bare feet in sandals behind Nancy?
