When I go for oatmeal, it is either maple and brown sugar or walnut/date/raisin. As for toast, it depends on the bread, but toppings are either butter and cinnamon or baked beans. HERBAL tea also varies.
And we wonder why so many people land up with Type 2 Diabetes. Been there, done that and now I must regret it for the rest of my life. I just hope that I won’t have to lose a leg one day. LET A WORD TO THE WISE BE SUFFICIENT!
Just pour several boxes into a large plastic storage container and then send in the box tops. Problem solved. Calvin can eat the cereal at his leisure.
America is the weird country with unique food for breakfast. In Japan, fried rice for breakfast is not unusual. Even Europe’s “Continental Breakfast” normally does not consist of chocolate-covered sugar bombs.
Quisp (spelling?) always had the best toys AND I loved the cereal also. A win win! Quisp was like Captain Crunch but it would get soggy, just right! Mmmmmmm

If that cereal is so bad, why are they feeding it to their ONLY child?

You know, I’d definitely try a bowl of that!! Crunchy-on-the-outside and chewy-on-the-inside? Sold!

I wonder if mom and dad have considered changing his cereal to something less sugary? Not for his health, but for theirs.

As if Calvin’s not wired up enough. He needs all that sugar like a hole in the head. In a few years Mom will wonder why Calvin he has tooth decay.

I’ve been there, Dad, and it’s not all it’s cracked up to be. Still better than the alternative, though.

I agree with dad. Just not right. I have to have flavored oatmeal with bran cereal.

Before the 1920s, most people, at least in North America, ate oatmeal and porridge for breakfast.
But in 1924, a bacon company hired Eddie Bernays to lobby doctors to promote folks to start having bacon & eggs.. the rest is history.

Keep packing those carbs away, the folks at Lipitor, Metformin, and Lisinopril are counting on you.
