Aw, sweetie, I’m sorry. I knew from something you said earlier that y’all lost Ninja in a timeline outside what we can see in the strip. I hate those calls. I’ve had a lot of them and it never gets easier.

I sure hope she got better. If not, she and Ginger would make good friends.

This reminds me of my first cat. I loved her so much.

Amanda, so sorry! I see a sweet kitten in your future.

Oh, this is exactly what took my previous cat, Smoke. Location and everything. I knew as soon as I felt the lump that it wouldn’t be good news.

This had got to be difficult to draw. So sorry, Amanda. Our kitty Zoey passed over the Rainbow Bridge this past Sunday after about 8 months of dealing with a basal cell cancer. Two surgeries and 3 chemo treatments kept it mostly under control, but it finally spread to her lungs and breathing got difficult and painful. We miss her, as I know you still miss Ninja.

When you’re ready, adopt an older cat rather than a kitten – those guys have a much harder time getting adopted and they do really appreciate it if you get them out of trouble. A cat knows when it’s in a precarious situation, believe me.

And remember, you gave Ninja a good life – eventually there’s nothing so nice as knowing you got another kitty out of a jam as well.
