    Swear word, verb: Adult you!

    Adverb: Adultly.

    Adjective: Adult, adulter, adultest.

(Trying to work “adultery” into the joke, but no luck. Give it a shot yourself, folks!)

Language is always changing, and every generation of youth change things in ways that drive their elders crazy. It’s tradition.

If you object to using nounds as verbs, I expect you to never again hammer a nail or screw in a screw. You won’t be able to vote, shoulder the blame or table a discussion. The only difference between those nouns turned into verbs and the ones you complain of is the conversion happened before your time.

A coworker of mine has a sign on her desk that says, “I’m sorry. I can’t adult today.”

Let’s just say I can relate.
